NPP RACE GETS VICIOUS ...As Wild, Scary SMS Messages Float In Constituencies
A text message intercepted by the Royal Mail and suspected to have emanated from the Nana Akuffo Addo campaign team reveals the kind of vicious, ethnic strategies and destructive propaganda that will characterize the New Patriotic Party Flagbearership campaign, if indeed the SMS message is authentic.
The text message, which was supposedly sent from a Nana Akuffo Addo campaign team member to another referred to as KK but got to yours truly, indicate that the campaign team is ready to win the NPP flagbearership race fair or foul by spending huge amounts of monies to buy the vote of delegates.
The first part of the message reads, “KK we should not give all the delegates the same amount of cash. Remember Nana said in the last meeting that we have 3 types of relationships with our grade 1 delegates and they must never know that we have special treatment and benefits for some of them. You will have to be extra careful and discreet about this exercise lest we blow up the whole project…”
The text message went further to reveal the tension and suspicion in the Nana Akuffo Addo camp towards some perceive supporters, as according to the text message, “our intelligence clearly indicate that some of those we assumed were ours have already began the shifting cultivation game when Alan peaked last week.”
Admitting the growing popularity of Alan Kyeremanteng, which is becoming a major cause of headaches and worry for the Nana Akuffo Addo camp, and attempts to manipulates and abuse the ever growing and vibrant Ghanaian media, the text message reads on “We all know he is a more attractive and popular candidate, so we must fight hard through media and destructive propaganda against Alan to shore up Nana.”
Giving credence to the rumour of huge tribal division in the NPP, the text message warns KK to “again be extra cautious of the Ashanti’s. Even those on our team should not know our game plan. Come up with an execution plan for tomorrow’s meeting.
