'Coconut Groove Regency Hotel poised for Ghana @ 50'

Yvonne Nduom, the Director of Coconut Groove Regency hotel, has disclosed that the hotel is poised to take full advantage of the golden opportunities that the Ghana @ 50 celebrations will provide for businesses in the country.
She said this at a staff party and awards ceremony Sunday. Present at the function was Paa Kwesi Nduom, Minister for Private Sector Reforms, Board Chairman of the Hotel.
She noted that the Ghana @ 50 celebrations would not only provide the platform for reconciliation and taking stock of what the country has achieved over the years, but also provide great economic opportunities for Ghanaians, especially those in the hospitality industry.
She explained that the preparations made so far by Government towards the Ghana @ 50 celebrations will attract many tourists into the country thereby increasing foreign exchange.
Mrs Nduom praised the staff of Coconut Groove Regency Hotel for their yeoman"s job over the year:
"The biggest asset we have at Coconut Groove Regency Hotel is not our facilities, but our staff; they make big things out of the little we have.?
She said the hotel was not able to meet it?s target for the year 2006 due to factors such as unreliable electricity and water supply, and inconsistencies on the part of certain suppliers.
The night saw Samuel Okpoti Sowah taking the Worker of the Year award and also Worker of the Month for the restaurant department. He took home a 21 inch television, a radio cassette player and a certificate.
Other award winners were Elizabeth Bekoe, Housekeeping, Ahmed Alangre, Front Office, and Sabina Fosu, Kitchen Department. They each took home a radio cassette player and a certificate.
The staff party and awards ceremony was held at all the regional offices of the hotel.
