An ex-national acrobat in the Acheampong era, Nana Yaw, has voiced out his anger for being sidelined during the national honouring of former Sport men in the country.
He said he is still alive and must be recognised for his selfless commitment to the nation during his hay days.
Speaking to The Statesman Thursday, Nana Yaw said he used to perform in the 70's with the late Ajax Bukana at every match played, both national and domestic, in the Accra Sports Stadium. "A that time we used to be the only Sport entertainers around, and therefore when mentioning the name of old pioneers, Ajax Bukana's name and my name should be among the first to come up", he added.
He disclosed that his service to the country earned him a scholarship to go to China to acquire more knowledge and skills in acrobatics. He said when he returned he trained a lot of Ghanaians to perform on the international, national and local scenes.
According to him for the past two years he has been speaking to officials from the Ministry of Education Science and Sports without any success on how best he could be of help to the nation. He told The Statesman that when he contacted OB Amoah, he asked him to provide documents to prove his claim. "How could I provide such documents", he queried.
He said he is therefore appealing to government and the Ministry of Education Science and Sport to acknowledge his exploit in the 70's and also give him a role to play in the Opening Ceremony of CAN 2008 as an acrobat entertainer.
